Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, announced on Wednesday the addition of former Carolina Cobras head coach Joshua Resignalo as the first Offensive Coordinator and addition to head coach Marvin Jones’ staff in franchise history.

Resignalo brings a wealth of experience, with more than a decade spent in Arena/Indoor Football. The former Carolina Cobras General Manager and Head Coach comes to Tulsa after three seasons in Greensboro. Beginning in 2019 with the Cobras, Resignalo was the Defensive Coordinator, before being promoted to head coach after the 2020 season was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After being the head coach in 2021, 2022 saw the role of General Manager added to Resignalo’s slate of duties, along with the head coaching job with the Cobras. The Cobras made it to the NAL championship this past season, coming up short of winning the title against the Albany Empire.

“Based on his resume & championship attitude, there was no better choice of a coach to lead our offense,” said head coach Marvin Jones. “As a Marine veteran, coach Rez brings a great work ethic & discipline to our organization.”

The newly named Offensive Coordinator joined the Marine Corps in 2000, serving two tours during the Iraq War.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to join this organization,” said Joshua Resignalo. “I am looking forward to being in the IFL. I have been a part of almost every league except the IFL. I am grateful for Coach Jones’ extension of this opportunity to be a part of his team, and I am thankful for the support of the front office. Tulsa is a great city and I can’t wait to be a part of this community. I am ready to get to work and be a part of this organization.”

The Oilers will begin their inaugural season in 2023.
