Tulsa begins its journey in March of 2023.

Tulsa, Okla. — Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, in conjunction with the IFL, have announced their 2023 season schedule.

The IFL will have 14 teams, seven in the Eastern Conference and seven in the Western Conference. The Tulsa Oilers will be a part of the Eastern Conference, joining the Frisco Fighters, Green Bay Blizzards, Iowa Barnstormers, Massachusetts PiratesQuad City Steamwheelers and the Sioux Falls Storm. The Western Conference will consist of the Arizona Rattlers, Bay Area Panthers, Duke City Gladiators, Northern Arizona Wranglers, San Diego Strike ForceTucson Sugar Skulls and the Vegas Knight Hawks.

The IFL schedule will consist of 15 games, eight of which will be home games for Tulsa. The Oilers will have two “bye weeks” the first in week three of the season and the final in week 17. The Oilers play five teams in the Eastern Conference twice and will play Green Bay only once, making up 11 of the 15 regular season games, with the remaining four games being against Western Conference teams.

Tulsa will begin its inaugural campaign on March 24, with the final game of the regular season taking place on July 15.  

The Oilers’ first two games of the season take place on the road, the only scenario in which Tulsa will have multiple road games in a row during the regular season. The Oilers play back-to-back home games twice during the season, the first in weeks 13 and 14 and the final in weeks 16 and 18.

Tulsa will collectively travel over 12,000 miles throughout their seven games on the road. The farthest trip is to Worcester, Massachusetts, which is over 3,000 miles round trip. 

Tulsa’s schedule consists of teams that were a collective 87-73 during the regular season and 4-6 in playoffs. The Oilers will face six 2022 playoff teams in 2023 and those opponents will make up 10 of their 15 games. Tulsa will see a 2022 playoff team in each of the first five games to start the year.

Upon completion of the 2023 regular season, teams that qualify for the playoffs will compete in two playoff rounds within their conference, with the two conference champions competing in the National Championship.
